Skin Deep: The Battle Over Morgellons

Director Pi Ware introduces a short clip from his film in progress. From fishermen to federal attorneys to the Executive Director of the Charles E Holman Foundation, the film follows people suffering from this misunderstood disease and features interviews with experts such as Raphael Stricker, MD and Marianne Middelveen, MDes. This documentary will shed much needed light into this mysterious ailment and explode the myths surrounding it.



Pi Ware is an Emmy award-winning editor, a former board member of the International Documentary Association and a Sundance filmmaker. Pi has edited for every major network and cable channel in the United States, from independent films to American Idol to massive multi-camera concerts like HBO's Rock and Rock Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. He has created narrative films and documentaries for Warner Bros., Universal, Fox Searchlight, Disney and Sony Pictures Entertainment.


Lev Mergian is a reality TV producer in Hollywood and is an award-winning music video and short film director. His work has been featured on MTV, FOX, NBC and ABC. Lev's credits include Dancing with the Stars, American Idol, MasterChef, America's Got Talent and more.


Filmmaker Gary Leva is an adjunct professor at the USC School of Cinematic Arts as well as Pepperdine University. His films include: Old South, New South (internationally acclaimed), Fog City Mavericks (feature documentary) and A Legacy of Filmmakers (received a New York Film Society screening at Manhattan's Guggenheim Museum and is now a part of the curricula at several top universities).

Laura Stoddard

Laura studied Human Rights and International Studies at the University of Iowa. She began her career in nonprofits in the Bay Area, where she worked on issues such as incarceration and homelessness. Laura has since moved her career in the direction of documentary production. She is currently an Associate Producer on three feature documentaries and has coordinated and field produced many projects such as CNN's Death Row Stories, The Girls of Summer feature documentary, as well as various editorial and commercial still photography campaigns.
